What Type Of Millennial Are You?

I wrote a post awhile ago about the semi-ridiculous stereotyping of Millennials –> (How Exponential Missed The Mark On Stereotyping Millennials). According to Exponential’s thorough definitions of 12 types of modern-day Millennials, I would be a ‘Boss Babe’ because I am devoted to my work and passionate about my career. A tech-savvy guy would be a ‘Brogrammer’. To say these definitions are offensive is an understatement. They undermine the great things Millennials are out doing in the world. Russ King over at Riddle shared my disgust in this article, and we worked together to bring you this amazing quiz to define what kind of positive Millennial you are. We guarantee at the end of it you will not end up with some gender-biased, defamatory definition of yourself. In fact, you will end up with one of the following five:

Traditionalist

Dependable, hardworking and true; you’re a sharp kick up the butt for the stereotype that claims Millennials want everything handed to them on a plate! You’re happy to do the grunt work when it counts but you’re not shy of working clever. And we just know that you’re going to do (big) things in your own style!

Shining light

A happy and positive soul like you is welcome anywhere. You’re the sort of person who not only looks on the bright side of life; you’re proactive enough to make sure you help create happy endings. You have a strong spiritual side and use that energy to drive you forward on the occasions when your bright light starts to fade. Just remember to take time for yourself occasionally because you’re just as important as the people around you!

Life performer

Whether it’s social media, travelling, crafts or cooking;  you put your heart and soul into everything. You attack your hobbies, work, relationships with vigor and energy. Of course with the new digital age there are opportunities to turn the things you love doing into your career. Will you end up as a celebrity? Who knows? But we do know that you’ll always be the social magnet in your circle of friends!

Ambitious rule breaker

If fortune favors the brave, it also helps the people who are making carefully calculated risks. Destined to be a leader from an early age, you’re not scared to step forward to get things done. People with your traits are destined to be among the movers and shakers of your generation. It’s totally up to you whether you take prisoners or mix it up to have some fun !

Soul searcher

Some people seem to shoot out of the womb with a 25 year plan already made.  You? Ah, not so much. It’s likely that you haven’t quite found your true spot in life yet. You’re probably not even travelling in a straight line on your journey. The good news is that these experiences create opportunities. However, it does help to at least follow a vague compass heading – even if it’s as eclectic as Cap’n Jack Sparrow’s!

Take it now!

What Type of Positive, Active and Engaged Millennial are you?

Millennials have suffered from some negative press recently such as the recent ad network stereotyping that lumped people into groups like ‘Boss babes’ and ‘Brogrammers’. (Yes, they were serious!) We’ve worked with our favorite Boss babe Marji Sherman to create something a little more scientifically accurate, not to mention positive.

I’m already right there!

It’s within reach

It’s going to take a little time

I’m still trying to work out my ideal lifestyle!

How’s your work/life balance?

Leaning heavily towards work

It leans towards work but I’ve got one foot on the life side

Work rarely overshadows my life

I’m busy working on my life!

Be honest! If you could take $10,000 for yourself now or give $20,000 to feed starving children you’d:

Take the money!

Give the money!

Which quote do you most believe in?

Don’t be afraid to stand for what you believe in. Even if that means to stand alone.

Grace isn’t a little prayer you say before receiving a meal. It’s a way to live.

You can’t raise your net worth until you raise your self worth.

Be like a tree and let the dead leaves drop

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

A Netflix series

YouTube

The latest movies

Social media

Reality TV

When you reach your grandparent’s age you will:

Have aced everything in my current bucket list

Not go out shopping at peak times for working people

Be travelling back in time to this decade

Probably grumble about the youngest generation!

You’d rather go out for:

Great food

Great drinks

Great company

Great opportunities

Choose a baby boomer classic song to work out to (you HAVE to choose one!)

Twist and shout -The Beatles

Good vibrations – The Beach Boys

Jumping Jack Flash – The Rolling Stones

What’s love got to do with it? – Tina Turner

What do you most aspire to in the next five years?

A verified Twitter account

Being a parent
